And the boy can ran run fast too. Good grief--the complete package.

Congrats to Son 2 and the family that raised him. Harding must be licking their chops.

Just curious, what's the spiritual internship?

Mike: Thanks for the congrats. They will be P.O. ASAP. (You inspired me on yesterday's post).

Yes, he can run fast. Did his last run of 5 miles in 33'20. And that was just training, not even his best time.

The spiritual internship is a year when Christians or wanna-bes can go to Marseilles and receive Bible instruction by very talented teachers each morning of the week. The church there is in a difficult area of town, so the afternoons are spent in community service, activities with the older folks in the neighborhood, choral and theatrical presentations, kids' programs, etc. Add to that camp counseling, a survey trip to French-speaking Africa, several retreats and lectureships, a choir tour… It makes for a great year. The youngest to have done it was about 18. The eldest? 65. Ready to sign up?

"Do they have Track and Field at Harding?"

Oh yeah, one of the better D-II track and cross country programs in the nation.

Son 2 is fast, and with some serious training, he might be able to get within sight of all those Kenyans Harding has. Of course, if they're already paying you to just sit there and think, why knock yourself out that much?

That spiritual internship sounds like a winner. I wouldn't mind sending my three over there to do that.

Ditto all the congrats to Son 2. Wow..........a 4-year scholarship at Harding! And besides that, he'll be in God's country, right over there in the middle of many, many ridge-backed hogs in red!! Oh, yeah, Harding is the Bisons, right? Well, no matter. Being a razorback has nothing to do with the school you attend. It's a state of mind! :)

How wonderful for you all. I'm so proud of Son 2, and I've never even met him. Seeing this pic of him and his mum makes me sniffle. Will E-mail Wife soon!

Congratulations! Now we'll see who's a mess when they send their sweet son miles and miles away. Although, when I mentioned this to my kids, they told me there's a difference between Switzerland to Harding and California to ACU. I see no difference. It's far and it makes me cry.

Blessings on this beautiful son and his family.
