Migros and the Rolling Stones
There are two big supermarket chains in Switzerland. One is COOP (pronounced COE-OPE). The other is Migros. Both have big, orange logos. Both offer bargain lines of products, from cell phones to nights at the club to credit cards. The two companies fight it out every year for the hearts of Swiss residents.
Migros (pronounced ME-Grow — I know, really bad grammar) has worked out a deal with an up-and-coming rock group to host a 40,000 seat concert. The only way you can attend the concert is to win a lottery. And the only way you can win the lottery is if you have a Migros fidelity card. They will be “giving” away the 40,000 seats to 20,000 winners.
This is quite a coup. For the afore-mentioned rock group is non other than the Stones. Yes, that mossy, wrinkly, Super Bowl halftime entertainment band will be making a stop in Lausanne. Hosted by the biggest grocery store chain in Switzerland.
Just imagine if Costco brought you the Eagles… If Walmart presented Genesis… If Kmart sponsored Kiss… Makes me want to stay home and order from Amazon.

Wow Brady, you just dated yourself with this post.
Who would Target be sponsoring? Styx? Led Zeppelin?
Speaking of music and Swiss supermarkets. A cashier there may not understand you if speak to them in English, but I guess they can understand our music because that is what is played over the speakers. So if you do not speak French and only speak English, then try singing it. They still might not understand you, but they might at least be entertain….or disturb.
Ah yes, Styx. I actually paid to go to one of their concerts. It was at Warner’s theatre in Fresno. Took 3 days for my ears to recover. 2 days! Brady

Don’t get that heart going TOO fast. Brady

All the talk about Styx makes me want to “sail away.”

Never put the Eagles in the same context as the Stones! That said, this concert would cement my relationship with Coop.
Please forgive me. I really don’t put them in them in the same class, and I shouldn’t have put them together in the same post. However, if someone GAVE you tickets to the Stones and you sat way way back in the back, you still wouldn’t want to go? Really? Brady

Hey Brady!
I’m not a robot without emotions-I’m not what you see
I’ve come to help you with your problems, so we can be free
I’m not a hero, I’m not a saviour, forget what you know
I’m just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control
The image of Brady at a Styx concert makes me smile…

Domo Arigato, Blake.
I’ll put it on the record right here and now that I own several Styx CD’s (that’s right, “CD’s”, which means I had to go out and buy them AGAIN to replace my LP’s). I even have the double concert disc.
What can I say? Welcome to the Grand Illusion. I’m living in paradise.
