Advent 2006

I crawled up the ladder late on Christmas Eve and tucked the newborn baby into the hay. Twice even! It’s the tradition around here that the baby is placed in the manger at midnight. I cheat because of the cold and because of the hour.
25 people came to the Advent Calendar Open House. Not the most we’ve ever had, but the neighbors appreciate it, and it wouldn’t be "Christmas" without it.
I leave with you the prayer on our web site, a prayer written by Max Dauner and one that goes along with the 4th Advent Sunday:
Lord, Light of the world…
Your birth called men from afar so that they could worship you.
They were guided to you in order to announce your birth.
They left you gifts that reveal your kingship,
your intercession for us as a priest and your death.
As the Magi followed the path that lead to you,
may we follow you in order to know you.
Amen.

I like that prayer. Remind me of a song…..”let us come to know you.”

So thats what those pictures were for. I remember seeing some of them lying against the wall. I did not know your church has its own website? While I did not understand most of what was said on the website, it does appear to be in need of an update. There is no mention of the 2006 LST team, the greatest LST team ever.* I also liked the prayer.
*According to the Mayor of Blakersfield and anyone that is cool.

Which makes you realize that the song “Here I Am To Worship” has always been a stealth Christmas song.

I like the tradition you mentioned except I’m not following the reason for having to do it twice? I know I’m missing something.
Have a blessed and happy New Year.
