Camp’s over
Talked to Son 1 yesterday morning. It was evening there. He was exhausted from the two-week Bible camp. He had a good room of boys 7 to 9 years old. He’s going to crash for a couple of days before heading north to work with the church in Geneva and Lille.
A few minutes later, we learned of Wes’ death, my first camp counselor when I was a 7 to 9 years old. I wrote about him a few days ago. He died in his sleep.
Later in the PM we received the tragic news that Serge, Son 1’s first camp counselor, had died in a motorcycle accident. He was working with the youth at the same camp as Son 1 and died going home after the camp was over. He was in his early 30’s.
I know you will keep these two families in your prayers.

Isn’t it interesting how death can have different “shades.” Wes passed from this life somewhat expectantly while Serge’s was anything but expected. Our prayers are with you and both families.

That is sad.

This is the first time I have been on your blog site. I have read the comments you have left on Greg’s and Keith Davis’ sites.
I really feel for those who have lost loved ones. I know the pain/sorrow of losing family and/or someone close to you. I have also seen up close and personal (in the ER) the grief of many and we have had to tell family that a loved one has not survived.

P.S. If you know of or know how to contact Dan Steinhauer, a CofC preacher in Belize (spelling?), Switzerland, I would greatly appreciate the information. He and his wife were very close to Mom and Dad and I haven’t been able to let them know that Mom passed away. Thanks for your help. Elaine
Greg know my email address. Thanks again.

Wes made a big impact in my life as a young youth minister. I’m sad to hear of his passing. I rejoice knowing he is with our Savior.
